Ontario is proposing big changes to the boundaries and number of conservation areas in Ontario. The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority, of which the Marmora and Lake municipality is within, would be a part of the Eastern Lake Ontario Regional Conservation Authority. This area encompasses more than 50 municipalities stretching from Oshawa in the west almost to Westport in the east; and Bancroft in the north to Prince Edward County.
The attached link explains the government’s logic to doing this, but it has huge implications for the smaller areas. At the end of this document, there is a link where interested parties can make comments until December 22, 2025.
