As we look forward to the spring and summer of 2025, I hope you all enjoyed everything winter had to offer. It was certainly a Canadian winter which provided an opportunity to partake in many winter activities that we haven’t been able to enjoy for the past few years.
As we move into the spring and summer season, your SRI Board and volunteers have been busy organizing an exciting array of events; Community Clean-Up Day, Dickey Day, Our Annual AGM, Golf Event, Music Event and The Sailing Regatta. We are also organizing a Fall Side by Side/ATV Poker Run.
As we navigate our way as a country and as a community through this time of economic uncertainty, it is more important than ever that we support our local service providers and retailers. We have within our community and local area a fantastic group of contractors and retailers and by supporting these businesses we keep our local community strong and vibrant.
Over the past few years, the SRI has supported the Tri-Township Food Bank at several of our events. Now more than ever it is important for those of us who are able to support our local food bank to continue to do so, as there are people within our community who are dealing with food insecurity.
2025 is not a typical year on the Canadian electoral landscape. Here in Ontario by the end of 2025, we will have voted in provincial, federal and municipal elections. Regardless of whether your property is used as a permanent residence or as a recreational property, you are eligible to vote as a property owner(s) in the up-coming Marmora and Lake municipal election. It is critically important as demand is placed on our tax dollars by all levels of government, that elected municipal politicians hear the concerns of the lake residents. We can only make them aware of our concerns by being involved in the election process and voting.
Your SRI Board hopes you enjoy the spring 2025 Loon’s Call that the Loon’s Call committee and volunteers have worked so hard to prepare for our members.
Have a great spring and summer.
