SRI ANNOUNCES 4th ANNUAL COTTAGE CLOSING FOOD BANK DRIVE
Tri-Township Community Food Basket Food Bank
Thanksgiving Weekend
from Friday, October 9th through to Tuesday, October 13th
The SRI is inviting our community to participate in a “cottage closing” food donation drive for the Tri-Township Community Food Basket Food Bank in Coe Hill. This Food Bank serves a large, rural community in this area. Small communities, such as ours, often lack the large-scale distribution infrastructure or nearby major grocery rescue programs found in cities. Local drives directly source and stock shelves where delivery networks are stretched thin.
The Tri-Township Community Food Basket Food Bank is ALWAYS in need of donations. Food insecurity is rapidly rising and more and more people in this area rely on the Food Basket to help feed themselves and their families. As we move into the fall and winter seasons, this need becomes more apparent.
We are asking our community to generously donate items they may find upon closing cottages or when reducing food and/or dry goods accumulated over summer in their homes and cottages this fall. No need to pack it up and take it home. Food products must be unopened and unexpired. Dry items such as toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, personal items, etcetera are also welcomed.

Boxes will be available for drop offs beside or in the garage, weather dependent. They will be emptied regularly.
